Memberships

There’s a place here for you at St. Marks, whether you are a member or not. If you are interested in finding a new church home or if you have been coming for a while and would like to be more involved, our pastor would be happy to talk with you about becoming a member.

We receive new members in three ways:

Baptism
People who are new to the faith can be received into the Church through Baptism. Though we most often baptize new members as infants, adult baptisms are not uncommon and are celebrated by the community. You can find out more about baptism here.

Transfer
People who have been members of other Lutheran churches can ask their congregations for a letter of transfer. It’s not a requirement, but it is a courtesy to both churches.

Affirmation of Faith
People who have been members of a church of another denomination or tradition are welcome here at St. Marks. To join by affirmation of faith, the pastor might first meet with you to talk with you about what Lutheranism is and how it compares with your current denomination, and to see if you have any questions about Gloria Dei.

If you would like to know more about becoming a member or want to talk with our pastor, please contact us.
